The JCY-1900 features a black box design and employs proprietary, reliable, marinized hardware in a user-friendly, IP-based format specifically tailored for VDR applications. A key enhancement in the JCY-1900 is the newly introduced 7-inch color LCD touch display, which enables comprehensive system operation. This intuitive interface presents detailed VDR alerts, displays the status of connected sensors, allows viewing of the latest recorded radar and ECDIS image data, and supports audio playback from recorded microphone inputs.
The updated operation panel also provides access to essential system information, including the installed software version, performance test results, and the remaining operational life of components requiring regular maintenance. For example, real-time monitoring of the capsule battery and the fan in the recording control unit allows for timely in-service replacements, helping to prevent unplanned downtime and avoid disruptions to the vessel’s demanding and costly schedule. Additionally, a front-mounted USB port on the display enables convenient data transfer from the VDR.
